The votes are in and the results have been tabulated: after a week of nominations and voting by our community, ELGL is thrilled to announce the winner of the Knope of the Week! As a reminder, The Knope of the Week honors individuals or groups who have done the most in the past week to advance the mission of ELGL.

Without further ado, the winner of the 22th Knope of the Week goes to the . . . .

Patrick Quinton

Portland Development Commission Executive Director

Patrick was a guest at the White House last week so the natural next step was a visit with ELGL members. During the ELGL forum, Patrick shared his public and private sector experiences in addressing urban renewal, economic development, and public-private partnerships. Audience member harkened back to their classroom days as Patrick touched on cluster development, green infrastructure, TIF, and the traded sector. Focusing on Greater Portland, Patrick provided takeways for audience members from smaller cities. These takeaways included examining current fee structures, reviewing the financing of urban renewal districts and implementing a neighborhood economic development strategy.

ELGL is very grateful to Patrick and his staff (Chris Harder and Melanie Rund) for ensuring the forum’s success.
