The votes are in and the results have been tabulated: after a week of nominations and voting by our community, ELGL is thrilled to announce the winner of the Knope of the Week! As a reminder, The Knope of the Week honors individuals or groups who have done the most in the past week to advance the mission of ELGL.
Without further ado, the winner of the 36th Knope of the Week goes to the . . . .
Bob Moore, Bob’s Red Mill
“Be honest” and “maintain your integrity” are two of the principles leading to Bob Moore’s success. Bob, who defines his wife as “a real cracker jack” is full of opinions as he enters his 80’s. He is brutally honest about his opinion and run ins with government including his run in with the City of Milwaukie planning department over his desire to have a red building. His perspective is especially valuable to ELGL members as we progress in our government careers with a desire to improve the current climate.
At this week’s forum, we saw first hand how Bob’s Red Mill has been so successful. Bob’s staff especially tour guide Christie was excited to show us around and provide a glimpse into their success. We also were privy to an exclusive performance of “When You Are Happy” by Bob and Christie. Watch the performance here.
Show your support for Bob’s “People Before Profits” approach by trying his product next time you are in the grocery store. As we learned, his product is one of the few available in every major grocery store in the country.
