About Level-Up and Deep Dive Cohorts

Level-Up (3-month) and Deep Dive (6-month) Cohorts are in-depth learning opportunities focused on a specific issue area through collaborative work, training sessions, mentorship with other local government experts, and more.

Our cohorts launch quarterly. Read more about the types of cohort programs we have offered in the past.

Level-Up (3-month) Cohorts cost $1500, and all participants receive an automatic scholarship of $750 from the cohort’s sponsor. Additional scholarships are available to ELGL members based on need. The cost for Deep Dives varies–details will be provided when these cohorts are announced.

We offer a variety of membership options, including discounted rates for students.

Discounted rates are available if three or more people from the same organization are attending—reach out to cohorts@elgl.org before registering for additional information.

Level-Up and Deep Dive cohorts feature biweekly collaboration and training sessions and create a policy or program strategy to support their work. Curriculum typically also includes readings and discussion board posts. You should anticipate spending 1-3 hours per week on your cohort.

Level-Up and Deep Dive participants are asked to write a short article for ELGL reflecting on their experience. Deep Dive (6-month) cohort participants have the opportunity to present their work at ELGL’s annual conference, where they also work together in a half-day collaborative in-person session.
